*For now I'm skipping over Friday and the weekend so I can post daily updates...I'll go back to that later.
Today is a low key day, no tests or procedures.
Every 12 hours, or so, the doctors up her Romodulin (heart med). They started her on a very low dose and increase it by 5 (units, mL, I don't know) once or twice a day. She has been experiencing headache and nausea as side effects. They are trying to manage the side effects to keep her comfortable. When she's feeling good she is normal happy Madalinn. She told Josh yesterday that she is not scared of surgery.
She has already been able to feel a difference in her breathing and how she feels since being here. She said, "I can take deep breaths! I've never been able to take deep breaths before!" She is realizing that what she has always thought was normal was actually not normal. Surgery is what will help her actually feel normal, eventually, and she is looking forward to it. She looks forward to walking with out feeling like she's going to pass out, ride a bike with her friends without lagging behind, and may be even be able to run!
I keep getting texts asking how I am doing. I am feeling more settled. The intense emotions, shock, and overwhelm have finally evened out and we are feeling peace.
The boys (Crosby 9, Hosea 4) are hanging at home with Grandma. They miss Madalinn and me but are doing well. They've gotten to spend the night with Mamaw and Papaw, play with cousins, and eat lots of pizza. At the end of this week they will go to spend a week or two in Indiana with my family.
Josh enjoyed spending the weekend at the hospital with Madalinn. They read Harry Potter together, watched the OSU game, and enjoyed some Bible Study and prayer together. Today Josh went back to work and is heading here to visit for a bit this afternoon before his class tonight. (He is in Electrical School)
Today a meal train was set up and is now live. If you'd like to help with meals here is the link: https://mealtrain.com/07og9v
If you'd like to send a card to Madalinn go to https://www.nationwidechildrens.org/greeting-card Her room number is H04B.28
Those who trust in the Lord with renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not grow faint. Is 40:31
It’ll be a wonderful day when she can walk and not feel faint — run and not tire!
