Last night Madalinn had her first bloody nose since that super long one Thursday night.  This time it lasted about an hour and then the ENT doc came up and packed her nose.

This morning she woke up annoyed because her nose was all stuffed up and she wasn't allowed to sniff.  She was also feeling annoyed that her arm hurts from the medications going in.

Despite feeling annoyed, she complied with the nurses and doctors and was a fairly pleasant patient.  This morning they gave her a transfusion of one unit of blood (her second one) and did an Echocardiogram.  The Echo results were steady and have remained unchanged.  Our doctor said that it's what they expected and that it's okay.  After the blood transfusion, which took about two hours, she was sleepy.  The massage therapist came in and rubbed her back as she dozed off into a two hour nap.  (Sometimes this place is like a spa...massage therapists and heated blankets!)  Meanwhile, I was sitting on the couch thinking about how my shoulders are feeling kind of tight! LOL

After nap we played a best out of three uno game.  Madalinn beat me.  She watched a movie, opened care packages & cards, and had fun conversations with a new nurse.

I took time this evening to go home for a shower and then out with some friends for our homeschool co-op mom's night out.  It was so nice to spend time with those sweet ladies!

How is Madalinn's pump going?     She is completely on the pump and off the IV.  Her arm is very sore and tender.  However, it is not red or swollen.  Tuesday is supposed to be the worst day for the pain and irritation.  She is much more comfortable with the idea of having a pump and is looking forward to doing the trainings with us.

How to Pray:

- That God would open up her arteries and veins that go to her lungs so her heart can stop working so hard.  We know that God can do this miraculously or through medication...either way is great with us!

- Pray for Hosea.  He has been fighting a cold for weeks...it lets up then comes back.  My mom is going to take him to the clinic in Indiana to see if he needs antibiotics.  We want him well before he and Crosby come home on Saturday.

- Praise that our secondary insurance - Medicaid - is going to be covering all of Madalinn's prescriptions.  We feel blessed to be able to qualify for it.

- Prayer for Madalinn as she does a 6 minute walk test tomorrow.  Pray that the information the test provides will be helpful to know how to prepair for discharge.

Thank you again for all of your love, prayer and care!

  1. I know you've probably posted this before but I'd there an address where we can send physical cards through the mail?
