Home for the holidays

Being home has felt rather uneventful so I haven't felt the urgency to blog about it.  However, I know some of you are faithfully checking for updates.  We are thankful for you and your prayers!

Once home, we quickly got into a rhythm with Madalinn's medications.  Her pills are all very easy and can all be taken in the morning.  The Remodulin pump has to be changed daily (though someday the concentration will change and we will only have to change it every 3 days) so we are getting really comfortable with it.

For those curious for more information about her pump...the site in the back of her upper arm.  The site only changes when her body starts rejecting the site.  So far it's been in the same spot for over two weeks.  We hope it will last at least 4...hopefully more!  Maybe you're wondering, "What does change her pump daily mean?"  It means we fill a syringe cartridge with meds, place it into the pump (think old school pager style), change the tubing that connects the pump to her arm, then snap the tubing onto the site.

The boys were very happy to be home.  We spent the first few days just being together.  We did not start school back up since she had a dr apt and it was Thanksgiving week.

To top it all off, we got to spend Thanksgiving in a cabin with Josh's family!  We had been looking forward to this for months and were delighted to be able to go.  We spent time playing games, watching movies, eating, hanging out and being together!

This week will be a quiet one.  I plan to do a slow start back to school on Monday then have a solid first week back to school.  I look forward to the rhythm of our days getting back into sync.

How to pray:

- Pray that God will heal Madalinn miraculously, with or without the medications.

- Pray especially for protection over Madalinn's body against any sicknesses

- Pray for grace and patience with one another as we start back to our school routine this week.

- Praise for the time we had at the cabin to decompress and destress.  We could feel a noticeable difference in our bodies afterward.

- Praise that her O2 situation has been in the upper 90's...it was even 99 yesterday!
