Thank you everyone for your prayers today for her Heart Cath. It was very intense. The anesthesiologist came in to talk to her before going down for the procedure and Madalinn realized how high risk she was. We had a half hour of crying together, praying and quoting scripture. By the time she left her room she felt at peace (probably a small dose of meds helped too).
I was able to stay with her until she dozed off. She was only sedated, not under general anesthesia. Josh's parents and one of his brothers & his wife were able to sit with us as we waited. It was much quicker than we had anticipated and it went very well. None of the bad things they had been prepared for happened. We credit that to the many prayers being offered up for her and God's power.
The results. The pressures in her pulmonary arteries, lungs and heart were much more than the doctors had hoped given the fact that she's been on medication for a full week. This probably means that her body has not been receptive to the medications (yet). This weekend they will give her a rest and not increase her meds to help ease some of the side effects as her body gets use to her current dose. Next week they will continue to increase her medication and while we wait to see if her body will respond the doctors will talk to us about next options.
Prayer:
- Pray for God to intervene in her heart and lungs. Pray that the pulmonary arteries and veins will relax and open wider. We need a miracle.
- Pray for us as we hear about next options. Pray for clarity, wisdom and strength.
- Pray that the genetics tests will come back sooner than expected
- Pray for Madalinn as she is feeling homesick and does not want to be in the hospital any more. (We have quite awhile before it's possible for her to go home)
Always praying and always here for you! God will show you the way!
